friday after work my colleagues and I met up at Mayflower II to have a few pints during the last moments of that pub. the owner sold the place, and we're now down another hangout for good beer and good food (my favorites: fish'n rings and wings night). i guess from now on it'll just be cock'n lion and brixton's.

that night bob and guillaume came over with bottles of vodka and vermouth, a jar of olives and three giant cigars. we spent a nice relaxing evening chatting in a smokey dining room around a few glasses of martinis, a pile of pistachio shells and cigars in a makeshift ashtray. thanx, guys! .e  20:26  1 comments [ leave comments ]

last night I had sushi and sashimi supper with my parents. then I went to bob's to join him and guillaume for the (ceremonial) pint of saint patrick's day Guinness. by 11 I had half a bottle of sake, two cans of guinness and a heineken in me. bob made me two aromatic expressos to keep me awake but the weight of the long week and lack of sleep forced me to retreat back to my lair.

i got home and tried to get some old cds from the top shelf in the closet. I had a box pulled out halfway when the chair tipped over. the box of old computer equipment fell on my face ( "my beautiful beautiful face!" - from the Simpsons :) luckily the bruise on the corner of my mouth is not very visible... and my gum had stopped bleeding before I went to bed.

i have a dvd burner now. thanx to roy's surprise birthday dinner, I had to trick him to leave work so he wouldn't miss it. what better way than to ask him to help pick out a burner for me. 10 dvds burned so far and counting... .e  11:55  3 comments [ leave comments ]
